Backseat Ramblings

"Momma, so girls have boyfriends and boys have girlfriends, right?"
brief moment of thought
"Yes, that's right .. but sometimes girls have girlfriends and boys have boyfriends too."

a little pause...
"OH GOOD! I can't wait to have a Girlfriend! ..."
~you gotta give it to them straight when they ask, right?~

"Momma, can you give me my flu shot before Christmas?"
"but I already did that last month. You don't get it two times in one year"
" I know Momma, but I want you to give it to me at Christmas next year. When you give it to me, it doesn't hurt. When I go to the doctor's office, it hurts."
awww
Little Man pipes up ... "I love it when you give me my flu shot"
~in France, you buy your flu shot kit at the pharmacy and administer it yourself or have another family member do it. Of course, you can have it done at your doctor's office too if you want to (I think you bring your own to have his nurse do it)~

"Momma, I miss my sisters"
"I know baby. I miss them too"
"Maybe C can come here and find a boyfriend that's French."
a few minutes of silent thinking ...
"I bet Clement has a big brother that could be her boyfriend"
cool - so now the 5 yr old is hooking up the 22 yr old. Big sister ought to LOVE that !

"Momma, My friends always ask my teacher ... "Qu'est-ce qu'elle a dit?"spoken with a true French accent!
Then she goes on to explain ... "That means - what did she say?"
I kept asking her to repeat it because she sounded so cute speaking French! My heart melted a teeny bit...

I need to put a tape recorder in my van. There are so many interesting thoughts being shared from the back seat. Unfortunately, I can't always recall them all. I know there were more from just lastnight's adventure in Christmas shopping that'd surely bring a smile to your face, as they did mine...
Have a great day!

Christmas Markets near Germany - part II

this is an area called "little Venice" because of the canals between the buildings and the long wooden boats used to go from here to there... Even Père Noël travels via canal!

The face of this restaurant is actually PAINTED on!
See the bread arch over the door!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas !

first picture is Santa climbing up a ladder (typical scenario in France) I guess he climbs a ladder rather than go down the chimney. The others are night shots with all the lights near Germany at the Christmas Markets...

I suppose I went a little rambunctious with the patchouli-spraying while my house smelled like intestinal goo... There's a point where you should just. stop. spraying. it... Now that our health situation at home has cleared up, the patchouli smell only lingers on and on and on and on and on...

Anyone know how long this scent lasts?

PATCHOULI

mmm don't you just LOVE that smell ! I used to buy the patchouli candle tarts from Yankee Candle before they discontinued them. I LOVE the smell in the house!

One very cool thing about living in France... you can find any scent of perfume you want...
Lastnight I found a whopping 4oz spray bottle at my most favorite store for just 4 Euros... while I won't be wearing it anytime soon, the house sure smells lovely and is a great cover up for the vomit and diarrhea smell from lastnight's sick child...

Yes, little Miss is a little under the weather ... today she's recovering from a rough night.

Lest anyone else catches it, back to sanitizing the house!(yeah I know that's just wishful thinking - it most likely WILL make it's way through all of us (literally) Hubby is safe from it at least, he's in China...

Have a great day
