A good friend of mine Lachen mentioned this movie in her blog. I was so surprised because I would never have thought in a million years that it would be a movie she had seen and loved so much...
I really love this story too and so do all my kids. If you haven't seen it, rent it and check it out ...

Travel Tips, Terrorist Rant, and Stop Your Damned Complaining
You know ... people bitch about the new security procedures in place before flying the (un)friendly skies these days ..
To them I say ... You choose... Blow up mid-air or stand in line for three hours
Don't be stupid!
Don't bitch about not being able to bring your liquids aboard ...
For babies you can bring formula, breast milk, juice etc .... just be prepared to show your willingness to ingest it yourselves before bringing it on board ...
Lotions, lipsticks, perfumes and other such products ... so what - who cares what you smell like or if your lips are pale... Apply what you need before you leave your suitcases at check-in - don't be so damned vain!
Your children will not become dehydrated and neither will you ... The airlines do serve complimentary beverages and as much as you need ...
Medications - no problem
Any prescription medications must have the prescription label affixed on it (nothing unusual) and it must be for you or someone in your family... No, you can't take your sister's xanax with you if she's not there!
We travel with 4 epi pens and have the documentation necessary with us .... this means a letter from the physician saying these epi pens MUST be with us at all times (including on the flight) for the safety of our child...
We also carry Liquid Zyrtec and three or four prescription inhalers ... All these have to have is the prescription label with one of our names on it .
We just travelled No Questions Asked with these things because we were prepared ...
Standing in line is no fun - listening to someone bitch about it the whole time is LESS FUN ... I remind any complainer "I'd rather be standing in line, bag searched, patted down by an officer (female for women, a male for the guys - and yes, we've endured this already and didn't complain) ... than blowing up over the ocean" So get the hell over it! You don't like it? take a boat or a car or just stay inside your house and go nowhere ...
This is reality people ...
Stupid people - jealous of the American way - miserable in their own lives doing stupid things to harm the masses are out there trying to figure out another loophole in order to carry out their murderous plots (in the name of their God?)
I say fucking NUKE them all - show no mercy ...

On the move again ...
France... seems like it's always been in the plans, but now it's happening. The movers arrive bright and early Monday morning to begin the big pack .. I'm glad I'm not packing this time. Yeah, I've packed some things, but only until I was told not to pack anymore ... no prob Bob...
Trying to think of everything that needs to be done ... Things to get before we move because it's either too expensive in Europe or you just plain can't get it ...
Temporary house is rented for the month of September - relocator is going to check out houses for us based on our criteria ... but first, school must be checked out. We need assurance our peanut (all nut) allergy princess will be safe. If the school can't convince us she'll be safe, we'll move on to another one... I imagine our little Kindergartener will begin school sometime in October... our little 3 year old preschooler may not go at all. He's not going to adjust as easily as little Miss chat alot, who will play with anyone and talk up a storm to anyone despite the fact they don't understand one word she is saying ... What a gem this little girl is !
Not sure the phone situation, the internet situation, and pretty much about anything until we get settled ... so there may be silence from these fingers here for a bit ...

I leave the US with a heavy heart but embrace the changes ahead and am determined to make the best of it ... A whole new adventure awaits...

Living la vida loca
Can I tell you how relaxing it is here in Spain?
Our days are spent poolside or down by the sea. The Mediterranean is in full view from the balcony of the in-law's place where you see all kinds interesting sights. The kids especially love seeing the big ships on the way to the port in downtown Alicante... They use their little binoculars and describe the boats they see and other things they happen to spot along the way.
Little Miss is now a mermaid. She has blossomed from a timid, stiff water pod to a comfortable floater and dog-paddler in both the sea and pool. She readily jumps in the water over her head and goes under at will - all the while with the biggest smile I've ever seen on her face ...
Little man is a clinger in the water still, but he is getting braver every day with his ventures along the edge of the pool (alone) and playing catch in the neck deep water without holding onto anyone... Soccer is his game and if there's a ball rolling on the courtyard, he's behind it! These little Americans have become quite popular and the Spanish kids are drawn to them to practice their English skills or to just be around them. Little Miss has her girlfriends and her boyfriends as she says... and she runs off to play with anyone that will play with her. Lastnight there were a handful of them playing cache cache (hide and seek) and Sebastien joined in the fun... It's nice to see them adapt so well - especially knowing they will be moving to France in just a few short weeks.
Mamie and Papy are enjoying their grandchildren immensely and are proud to parade them around and show them to anyone within sight. You'd never know there was a language barrier between grandparents and grandchildren because all four are chatting happily amongst eachother and smiling all the while... I'm impressed with the English language Mamie and Papy have acquired and with the fact that the little one's have a pretty good understanding of the French language to do as they are told and to converse freely...
The Mediterranean is dry and hot, as you can imagine - or maybe you've been here. After spending a morning in the water, enjoying the repas of the area for lunch, siesta's are always welcome... and we partake! Evenings are full of swimming some more, visiting places in the area, enjoying the beach at night or just talking with the neighbors and friends courtside.
No visit here is complete without a night out for tapas and sangria ... A visit to the market is a must ... It was surprising to see two little monkeys, who can't stomach the smell of fish on the dinnertable, searching out all the fish they could in the fish market area. They saw octopus, squids, all kinds of shellfish, huge eel-like fish, tuna, and their favorite - the swordfish in the fish market the other day... My favorite place to visit here is the pottery shop on the corner downtown.... I love Spanish pottery! and I got plenty enough for this visit ...
A trip down by La Plage San Juan was a good night out to see the wares of local and foreign people... Of course Little Miss came back with two stuffed animals and Little Man came back with a coaster set - yes, I typed that right! The coaster set is on wheels and looks like a buggy - inside are six wooden, hand-carved coasters from Brazil... Oh yes, Momma didn't mind Little Man getting that because when he tires of it, it will be a nice collection on the shelf in the cabinet for Momma to use at will ...
We are having a wonderful time in Spain ....
It's true that time flies when you are having fun!
Pictures will be posted upon our return to the US sometime next week and in between the final packing for the big move...
