Très Dure

This is how I would describe our morning ... Little Man and Little Miss started in the French school system today. Imagine what that must feel like to be thrust into an environment, without your parents by your side, where everyone speaks a different language than you...

Little Miss was beyond excitement because she's always loved school. Kindergarten is a big step for her and she didn't care WHAT language was spoken, she wanted to go!

Little man was another story... he was scared, but said often during the weekend that he was going to school. I don't really think he believed we would drop him off.... but we did. He did a little squeeky screaming as we said goodbye, be brave, and we'll be back in a little while - then walked out the door... I didn't want to look back, but when we did, we saw his teacher took him by the hand and was walking him around the classroom.

When I picked them up for lunch 3 hours later, Little Miss couldn't tell me fast enough all she did... Little man just looked at me with a pitiful little teary face and then hugged me. By the time we got back to the van, he said he was going back tomorrow, but he was staying home with momma the rest of the day.

What a brave couple of kids we have... and we are so proud of them. Here they are as we were leaving the house. No picture was taken at the school because we had to move swiftly and without hesitation...

It was a hard morning for Momma, worrying that her baby was still crying. When picked up, the teacher announced that Little Man cried for just a minute and didn't cry again all morning.

Phew!

We ARE bursting with Pride, Jen... they are doing really good in spite of so much that is different for them (language mainly)

extremely brave little ones. I hope they are better with it now. I would be so frightened even as an adult.

No kidding Angela! I'm most proud of them for being so brave because I know it would be hard, even for me...

They are doing really well, though
