PSYCHO on plane

We had a live one on our flight back from Florida to Paris.

What a freak! We had middle 4 seats on a huge ass plane (the one with business and first class upstairs) and the same kind we flew over on. It was comfortable enough but there's never enough room, ya know. Anyways this woman was seated behind Little Miss, her husband, 10ish year old son and her mother were right behind us. She complained that our air blowing on us was too much for her so hubs redirected the air flow and turned it down (I was getting cold anyways) - no problem.

The kids fell asleep about an hour into the flight and there was no problem. A couple of times I tried to put Little Misses seat back a little so she could be more comfy and I couldn't move it so I figured it was broken... no big deal. Later, the woman had gone to the bathroom and I was able to recline the seat. As soon as the woman got back the seat got kicked forward to the straight upright position. I tried to put it back and it wouldn't move again. I then realized the woman's legs were pushing against Little Misses seat and she kept a tight tension on them so she couldn't recline! So I asked her to move her legs. She acted like she didn't hear me! I was able to put the seat back just a teeny bit and then she would quickly push her legs hard so the back would go straight up and down again! OMG I couldn't believe how rude this 40 year old woman was. I got pissed and pushed at her legs to get them off the seat and I couldn't budge her! The other people with her said nothing, did nothing. Eventually they made it sound like WE were bothering them...

Finally, I told hubs what the woman was doing and that was a big mistake because you don't mess with his wife or kids. He got into protection mode - stood up and told the woman to move her legs. She refused to acknowledge him and made a hood over her completely with her blanket from the back of Little Misses seat to the back of hers. He ripped down her blanket and told her again, she refused to release her legs. He then kept pushing the back of the seat back HARD which would give a little and then tense back up straight because she was kicking forward so the seat wouldn't recline. Finally, I was afraid security would be after hubby and I was actually surprised he got to physical with the seat and slamming it, that I grabbed his arm and told him to STOP and let the crew handle it. So he went uo front and got some help. Two stewardesses and a steward came to the woman and removed her blanket hood again (ugh fucking weirdo!) and saw what she was doing. She refused to stop! Finally the flight crew was able to get her to release her legs and stop. The woman said she was uncomfortable with the seat reclined in front of her but of course she had her own seatback reclined! How rude! I was ready to fucking punch her!

So Little Miss reclined back and fell back to sleep pretty quickly. About 15 minutes after she fell back to sleep the seat was being KICKED forward hard and back to the straight position. Also, Little Miss complained that the woman's feet were on her armrest and she kept kicking her in the back! She kept it up so we had to get staff involved a few more times. This just kept up. At one point the woman got up and dramatically ran-hopped to the front of the plane. The crew was ready for her though, because now clearly everyone understood she was some psycho. The captain of the flight took her aside and ripped her a new asshole basically and told her that if she kept it up she would have an ambulance and a police escort to a psychiatric hospital! LMAO!

The rest of the flight (probably 2hrs left) she behaved herself and I stayed in the seat with no problem reclining. It was such a mess though and how annoying! I don't know what the rest of the passengers thought but they certainly watched a lot of drama in the night. I was shocked and a little scared with hubby's response to it all (when he started slamming the seat back against the force of her legs - but I assure you, he didn't hurt her)... I never saw him go into protective mode that strongly. I was also proud that he was my husband at the same time and knew that no matter what, we'd always be alright with my grizzly bear watching over us

The crew was excellent in how they handled it all. They were all apologetic the whole time towards us. We were very pleased with their response and would certainly let the airlines know how pleased we were with their handling of it.

Who the hell needs that? When it was time to get off the flight, the woman's old bag mother kept giving us the face - pretty mature huh? The woman's husband did NOTHING when hubby slammed the seat back during the heat of the whole thing - that's pretty sad. Hubby said her husband was pissed at her (he heard their conversation apparently).

The family dynamics was pretty sad to watch. The wrinkled up mother and the grandson got off the flight and went thru customs together - the husband went alone - and psycho chick made a dramatic scene with the officers at the booth until one from the other booth waved her on. You could see the two officers roll their eyes like "oh we got a fucking nutcase here" so it was pretty obvious. I hope we never run into them again, but what's the chance of that?

Tell me there's no chance of that...
