The problem is there simply isn't anything overly interesting to talk about right now. Yeah, we're trying to gear up for Christmas and by the way I have NOTHING done yet as far as gifts go. We decorated the outside a bit last weekend (in the rain), then the wind came along and kept blowing over our nicely decorated Christmas tree ! After the umpteenth time of righting it, I weighed it down with some big boulders from the garden - that ought to do it! Hubs supported the tree with some string, but the wind was too strong to hold onto it and it snapped. Oh well. It's upright now!
I'm taking French classes through the local university three nights a week. They were kind enough to put me in the "intermediate group" rather than the baby group, which was a nice ego booster, but man, it's hard to learn a new language! I get by, but I'd really really like to be fluent one day. My French friends are tolerant with me and aren't laughing too hard, so I guess that's a plus.
Seriously though, why does every single THING have to be either masculine or feminine? Why oh why can't they just use IT? Why? I just can't seem to remember which one is feminine and which word is masculine UGH! I guess I'll get it eventually!
So Hubs is making yet another trip to China. The frequent flyer miles are great BUT why do these trips always seem to land at the most inopportune time? Why? We have Christmas to prepare for. We still don't know if his family is coming to our house or if we are going there. If we're having guests, it's always good to know way in advance so I can kick into deep clean mode and uber preparation mode, but it's always better when Hubs is actually here to help.
So on the way to meet hubs at work to do our kid transfer on the nights of my classes, our little darlings had some priceless "back seat ramblings" that I told myself I MUST remember so I can blog them. Sure enough in between the French verb conjugation and figuring out what's feminine and what's masculine the ol brain forgot all the things the kids said. So I'm left with nothing new to report. Hopefully they'll repeat them when my brain is more open to remembering (that WILL happen right?)
Until next time, have a safe and happy holiday and sending you many wishes for a bright and prosperous new year!
