It's been a while eh?

Lest you think I've totally deserted this little space, I thought I'd throw out a shout

HELLO! BONJOUR!

It's the second day of Spring - YAY - and we are having a snowstorm! Imagine that!
Seriously, this is a BIG snowstorm for here but who can be mad when it's so pretty outside. The rest of the winter we were blessed with rain, rain and a little more rain - was remembering the years we lived in England - hmmmm Didn't like that too much.

Little Miss, if you didn't know, now wears glasses. I guess she's had them a couple months now. She looks adorable and when she's got them off she looks funny. Last Thursday she had her THIRD eye surgery - uh huh I said THIRD. She did great, as usual. She takes everything in stride, was excited for the day to come weeks ahead of time and man, was she ever pissed when the surgeon was running late and they took her to the OR almost 2 hours late. Good thing they gave her the Atarax before they came for her, she may have just told them how mad she was. That's my girl!

Seriously though, she's recovering great and even returned to school on Tuesday this week. It whipped her ass but she was happy to be back.

Normally, after eye surgery, well at least after the last two of her eye surgeries, the whites of her eyes were all red. ALL RED. We told her to expect this. The day after we got home post op, she went in to the big bathroom with all the mirrors and noticed her eyes were RED. She freaked! Poor kid! She thought there would be red on the skin OUTSIDE the eye, not inside. She called herself "scary" and it took a lot of consoling for her to stop crying. My heart broke. After calming her down and assuring her that it would go away (told her it was like a bruise on the skin that fades over time) she decided it wasn't so bad afterwards because, after all, it would go away. phew!

So she returned to school on Tuesday and she wasn't a bit concerned about what the other kids would say about her red eyes. I was worried, I really was. I was afraid she'd be teased. She got in the van after the morning session of school and was just as happy as ever. Apparently having red eyes made her all the more popular.
See, it pays to be an American in France.

Movie Stars, that's what we are.

That's all for now
